This site allows anyone requiring a design to post up a contest, then any associated designers who are members of the site can put forward entries to the competition, if yours is selected by the contest holder you get paid.
A contest holder by the name of Johnny Rotten placed a contest for a logo design, the logo was to be used on a new website (see above link).
I am proud to say my design was fortunate enough to be selected. Please take a look at the site, and also the associated design work in the gallery below.

I was in deep need of a great looking logo that was not your typical clip art look. Martin's willingness to do more than was requested as far as mock ups and changes to the design was truly refreshing. Martin was able to understand the design requirement clearly and deliver a fantastic result!
